The grieving therapist begins to tell his clients exactly what he thinks. By ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes in people’s lives – including his own… Check out our list of renewals and cancellations to see if your favorite show has made it… When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to join the show, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted a “Harrison Ford type,” and would audition people who were similar to Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should bring it to Ford first, thinking he would turn it down immediately, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had brought the project, generating interest from other notable actors. Two episodes in, this show shows a lot of promise, the chemistry between the characters is infectious and even weird at times… it warms the heart in ways most shows don’t, only reminding us of the show’s community for these elements. I’m not sure if this is exactly how the therapist deals with the issues, but it certainly gives Jason Segel a chance to think in his own way. Harrison Ford plays Dr. Rhodes, Jason’s boss and mentor. I wasn’t sure how his character would work in this show, but Rhodes’ antisocial nature certainly plays into the personality that Ford comes across quite well when we think about the more sinister elements of his character Han Solo in Star Wars, it just fits like a glove in this show. Somehow too close, Sean (Luke Tenney) plays somewhat of a son to Jimmy (Segel) as he deals with his own family issues with his daughter Alice (Lukita Maxwell)… What I see here feels so vivid and the possibilities are maybe (?) endless as I see Jimmy navigate these things. Btw, the intro theme to this show is so good that I didn’t even miss it when I watched episode 2… And the music in this show is so good. Overall this turned out to be a wonderful show and I hope it only gets better from here on out.
